I was getting lots of request asking to suggest some books for DRDO CEPTAM Preparation. So here I am with another Blogpost.
Lets start with Tier-I. As you know Tier-I has 150 questions for 150 marks. Total duration to complete the test will be 120 minutes. Below are five subjects you have to study for Tier-I:
- Quantitative Aptitude
- General Intelligence & Reasoning
- General Awareness
- English Language(Beginner Level)
- General Science
Quantitative Aptitude will test your mathematical skill to solve the problems. You can go with R S Aggarwal Book. Admit it, he is the king, when it comes to Aptitude and Reasoning. You ask anyone and they will suggest you to study R S Aggarwal Book. Below is a book by him for competitive exams. Price is slightly costlier though(Rs. 471 at the time of posting this article).

If you are looking for slightly cheaper book, then go for "Teach Yourself Quantitative Aptitude" by Arun Sharma. Its 664 page book, covering all the Aptitude section thoroughly with great explanation and handful of exercise. This is also very useful book.

Next section is reasoning. If you have budget, you can go for "A modern approach to verbal and non-verbal reasoning" by RS Aggarwal. It has more then 1200 pages covering both verbal and non-verbal reasoning. You can order from Amazon.
If you are looking for a low price book, go with Disha Expert's "Shortcut in reasoning". This book covers various tips and tricks to crack reasoning section. It has many shortcuts followed by examples. Order from Amazon.
For General Awareness try to solve old CGL questions. You can buy Kiran Prakashan book from Amazon. It has lots of previous year papers which you can refer.
You can also study Lucent's General Knowledge. This book needs no introduction, Most of you have already purchased it. This is very helpful book for competitive exams. If you don't have it yet, head over to Amazon and buy.
Moving on to English section, if your grammar is good, you dont need a book. Just revise it and practice few comprehension. Read one English news paper.
If you still need a book, below are few two books you can refer.
Arihant's "English Grammar & Composition" is very handy book. It has in-depth explanation and exercises to improve your English. You can buy it from Amazon.
Last section is General Science. Lucent book is very good. It covers all the basic concept. Although this book is not updated for long time it still covers many important topics. You can order it from Amazon.
Another good book is from Arihant.
