If you are struck with any question during exam, don't waste too much time, mark the question and proceed to next question. Try to solve the questions which you are familiar with, and then go for tough questions.

Finally practice as much as possible.

Next topic is General Intelligence & Reasoning. This is equally time consuming, and you should practice as much as possible. There are various shortcuts and tricks available to solve these questions. You should learn them and practice.
Questions in this section should be read carefully. Most of the time if you read the question, you can answer it. Answers are hidden in the question itself. That being said, there will be multiple questions which can eat your time quickly. You have to identify these types of questions and plan accordingly. Best book for General Intelligence is this.

Now lets talk about General Awareness. This is the least time consuming topic, and you can answer it quickly. Read news paper regularly and take note of necessary developments. If you don't have time to read newspaper, you can also read various weekly capsules which covers important events of the week. For static GK, prepare a separate notebook and write all the important facts point wise. This will save time during revision. History you can divide in three topics: Medieval, Ancient and Modern. Also make a note of important freedom movement. Here is a book you can consider.

For English Language, focus on basics as well as improve vocabulary. If your grammar is strong, you can easily score. If not, buy a good grammar Book, and 20-30 minutes daily. After you complete a chapter, spend some time on practice set, solving questions. Don't forget to read English newspaper, especially editorial pages, this will increase the comprehension skill. I will also advice not to join any spoken English class, it will be of no use.

Last section is General Science. Questions ranges from Physics, Chemistry, Biology to General Science. If you finish this section in less time, you will get extra time for the Reasoning and Aptitude. You can practice General Science from this book.
